Contract Administrator

Hybrid – 3 Days In Office

NERC CIP Access Required

About the Role:

The Contract Administrator will support Duke Energy’s Midwest Contract Manager and cross-functional subject matter experts to ensure compliance with Open Access Transmission Tariffs (OATT) enforced by Midcontinent Independent System Operator (MISO) and PJM Interconnection LLC (PJM). This role plays a key part in supporting regulatory, operational, and strategic initiatives, including the Carolinas One Utility merger.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist with the amendment, execution, and management of transmission contracts and agreements, including Generator Interconnection Agreements, Network Integration Transmission Service Agreements, Network Operating Agreements, and related documents
• Develop and maintain working knowledge of OATT requirements and applicable federal regulations
• Support Contract Managers and enterprise partners in implementing regulatory and strategic initiatives
• Perform routine administrative and analytical tasks that support broader business objectives
• Maintain accurate reports, data, and documentation within contract monitoring and reporting systems
• Communicate status updates, risks, and issues clearly and timely to teammates and leadership
• Maintain organized records and documentation to support audits and compliance requirements
• Apply sound judgment when working independently and escalate risks with proposed mitigation actions
• Collaborate effectively across teams and demonstrate strong listening and communication skills

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field
• OR High School Diploma/GED with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office and enterprise computer systems
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Proven ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
• Ability to meet deadlines and adapt quickly to changing business needs
• Awareness of Bulk Electric Systems (BES) and wholesale electric markets

Preferred Qualifications:

• NERC Certified System Operator (Reliability Level)
• Knowledge of generation assets, transmission systems, and operating procedures
• Familiarity with FERC, NERC, SERC, RFC standards and transmission operations practices
• Experience applying contract management fundamentals and supporting difficult customer interactions
• Strong organizational, planning, and self-management skills
• Experience working in project-based or self-directed team environments
• Proficiency with OATI OASIS and contract-related systems
• Demonstrated commitment to continuous improvement and operational excellence
