Overview

Job Title: Driver/Courier Lead at SPS

This role reports to the Client Services Supervisor, Client Services Manager, or equivalent leadership. The Courier Lead will be integral to our logistics and distribution operations, focusing on delivering courier and freight services with detailed coordination and execution of parcel and mail delivery across various locations to ensure operational efficiency and high-quality service delivery.

Responsibilities
  • Courier and Delivery Excellence: Navigate predefined routes via automobile to deliver mail and parcels, ensuring timely and safe delivery.
  • Freight Handling: Manage the loading, unloading, and proper distribution of freight, adhering to safety and efficiency protocols.
  • Operational Support: Serve as a critical point of support for dock operations, including organizing and managing shipping and receiving areas.
  • Vehicle Maintenance: Perform routine vehicle maintenance and ensure operational readiness, including inspections and compliance with safety regulations.
  • Documentation and Compliance: Maintain accurate logs and time stamps for items received and delivered, supporting chain of custody requirements and company standards compliance.
  • Client and Employee Engagement: Provide exceptional customer service to clients and SPS employees, enhancing the professional image of the company.
  • Additional Support: Proactively seek out additional tasks during downtime and provide support across various operational areas as needed.
Qualifications & Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • 2+ years of experience in courier, freight handling, or similar roles preferred.
  • Current state-issued drivers license with a clean driving record.
  • Must be able to work assigned hours as determined by the manager.
Physical Demands
  • Ability to lift, bend, and maneuver freight up to 60 lbs.
  • Must be able to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and sit for extended periods.
Travel

Local travel is a fundamental part of this role.

Pay Range

$25.17 - $29 USD
