Our firm is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Permanent Legal Assistant to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in the smooth running of our legal operations by providing high-level support to our attorneys. This position is ideal for a professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is comfortable handling sensitive information. The Permanent Legal Assistant will be responsible for managing case files, researching law, preparing legal documents, and providing litigation support. The ideal candidate should have a minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role.

Responsibilities: MUST LIVE IN CALIFORNIA

1. Provide comprehensive administrative support to our legal team, including managing calendars, scheduling appointments, and maintaining case files.
2. Conduct legal research and prepare legal documents such as contracts, briefs, pleadings, appeals, wills, and real estate closing statements under the guidance of a lawyer.
3. Assist with the preparation and filing of all court documents and have knowledge of electronic court filing procedures.
4. Provide litigation support, including organizing evidence and documents for attorneys, preparing case summaries, and coordinating with expert witnesses.
5. Maintain communication with clients, witnesses, and opposing counsel, ensuring all correspondence is accurately recorded and filed.
6. Monitor deadlines and juggle calendars to ensure that all legal requirements are met in a timely manner.
7. Handle billing and invoicing tasks, ensuring all legal services are billed accurately and promptly.
8. Assist with special projects and ad-hoc tasks as required by the legal team.

Qualifications:

1. A minimum of 3 years of experience as a Legal Assistant, Paralegal, or similar role in a law firm or legal department.
2. A degree in Law, Paralegal Studies, or a related field is preferred but not required
3. Proficient in litigation support, including the preparation and filing of legal documents.
4. Strong knowledge of legal research techniques and legal terminology.
5. Excellent organizational skills with an ability to think proactively and prioritize work.
6. High degree of professional ethics, integrity, and confidentiality.
7. Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written.
8. Proficiency in using legal software and Microsoft Office Suite.
9. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
10. Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
11. Ability to handle high-pressure situations and tight deadlines.
12. Strong interpersonal skills, able to build and maintain professional relationships with clients, colleagues, and court personnel.
