We aim to create solutions that enhance efficiency and ensure the highest levels of safety. Role Description This is a full-time, on-site role based in Seattle, WA or Bozeman, MT. The Machine Learning Engineer - NLP will focus on developing and optimizing natural language processing models and algorithms, and collaborating with cross-disciplinary teams to implement solutions on low SWaP devices. The role involves informing data collection and processing, dataset curating and model training, and model packaging and deployment. Qualifications Experience with Python, PyTorch, and other NLP libraries (e.g., Hugging Face, spaCy, NLTK) Strong knowledge of Automatic Speech Recognition (ASR), Natural Language Processing (NLP), Natural Language Understanding (NLU), and Machine Learning (ML) Competence in building and deploying models, such as diarized transcription models and small language models. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and debugging skills Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure) is advantageous Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computational Linguistics, or similar fields or relevant industry experience. Familiarity with aviation or aerospace technology is a plus Compensation and Benefits Salary and equity compensation will vary based on experience. Salaries may range from $80,000 to $160,000 per year. Incentive Stock Options will additionally be a component of the compensation package. VTI additionally offers 401K with a 4% match, an unlimited PTO policy, and health care reimbursement up to the IRS allowable limit through QSEHRA.
