The Mortgage Loan Officer is responsible for originating residential mortgage loans by developing and maintaining relationships with clients, real estate professionals, and referral partners. This role requires knowledge of mortgage products, underwriting guidelines, and compliance regulations to ensure a smooth and efficient loan process.
Key Responsibilities Loan Origination:
- Identify and develop new business opportunities through networking, referrals, marketing efforts and working with our current membership.
- Assist clients in selecting appropriate mortgage products based on their financial needs and goals.
Client Relationship Management:
- Guide borrowers through the entire loan process, from application to closing.
- Provide clear communication and exceptional customer service to ensure client satisfaction.
Compliance & Documentation:
- Collect and review financial documents to verify borrower eligibility.
- Ensure all loan files meet regulatory and company compliance standards.
Collaboration:
- Work closely with underwriters, processors, and closing agents to facilitate timely loan approvals.
- Maintain strong relationships with real estate agents, builders, and other referral sources.
Qualifications Education:
- High school diploma required; bachelor's degree preferred.
Experience:
- Minimum of one year of mortgage lending or related financial services experience.
- Proven track record of meeting or exceeding goals.
Skills:
- Strong knowledge of mortgage products, lending regulations, and underwriting guidelines.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and customer service skills.
- Proficiency with loan origination systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
