We are looking for an experienced Tax Preparer to join our team in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. In this Contract to permanent position, you will play a key role in preparing accurate tax returns for individuals and businesses, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local laws. This opportunity offers flexibility with permanent or part-time schedules in a detail-oriented, business-casual environment.

Responsibilities:
• Calculate taxes owed by clients in accordance with current tax codes and regulations.
• Prepare and review tax returns, ranging from simple to complex filings for individuals and small businesses.
• Identify deductions, credits, and other opportunities to maximize client benefits under applicable laws.
• Provide expert advice to clients on potential tax liabilities and strategies to minimize unnecessary payments.
• Analyze financial documentation, including income statements and expense records, to ensure accurate reporting.
• Consult tax law references to address complex scenarios and ensure compliance.
• Resolve client concerns and address questions with clarity and a focus on service.
• Utilize electronic filing software to submit tax returns efficiently and securely.
• Deliver copies of completed tax returns to clients and maintain organized records.
• Recommend additional services or solutions tailored to client needs.• Minimum of 2 years of experience in tax preparation for individuals and businesses.
• Proficiency in Drake Software and Microsoft Excel.
• Strong knowledge of tax laws, regulations, and filing processes.
• Experience preparing individual and corporate tax returns, including complex schedules.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively with clients and resolve inquiries.
• Familiarity with electronic filing systems and tax preparation software.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred but not required.
