Position: Underwriter, Middle Market Property

Location: Scottsdale, AZ; Atlanta, GA; Chicago, IL; Richmond, VA; or New York City

Function

The Ategrity Property function offers primary and excess insurance solutions to the E&S commercial property market through our exclusive wholesale broker network. The team offers thoughtfully curated coverage and competitive pricing backed by decades of underwriting experience and advanced data and analytics. Our team delivers an unmatched level of service – starting with the first efficient underwriting review and continuing throughout the entire life of the policy.

Role

The role is for a production underwriter within the Middle Market Property underwriting team. This role will be responsible for growing a profitable property insurance portfolio with a focus on select classes of business and geographic regions. Success in the role will require interpersonal skills, the ability to work in a team environment, and good technical capabilities. The role will report to the AVP of Middle Market Property.

Responsibilities

Underwriting and Program Management

• Underwrite new accounts based on underwriting guidelines and authority granted
• Manage production to achieve premium goals.
• Effectively communicates information to both internal and external customers to ensure our standards of excellence are maintained.
• Develop, market and maintain and enhance existing broker relationships

Qualifications/Requirements

• 3 years preferred underwriting or compliance experience in P&C Insurance, preferably for an E&S carrier
• Demonstrated knowledge of commercial property underwriting, risk and agency management
• Strong interpersonal and team building skills
• This position requires up to 10% travel for agent visits, meetings, conferences, and events
• Effective written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to maintain strong internal and external business relationships
• Well organized with attention to detail
• B.A./B.S degree from an accredited College or University
• CPCU, AU or CIC, continuing insurance education desired
