Casa Lending is looking for an Underwriter to join our team. In this role, you will provide superior borrower experience while maintaining the well-being of our active loan portfolio. You will work closely with sales teams and transaction coordinators to provide timely, accurate loan decisions that align with Casa Lending’s commitment to excellence and innovation in lending.

What You'll Do:

• Support the underwriting team in reviewing business-purpose DSCR loan applications for investment properties.
• Assist with reviewing required documentation such as loan applications, entity information, credit reports, and property data.
• Learn how to evaluate key factors like property cash flow, rental income, and borrower financials under the guidance of senior underwriters.
• Review loan files for completeness and accuracy, ensuring all required information is present before final review.
• Collaborate with sales teams and transaction coordinators to obtain missing documents and clarify borrower information.
• Gain exposure to underwriting systems, risk assessment methods, and compliance standards.
• Participate in team meetings and ongoing training to build your understanding of DSCR loans and Casa Lending’s underwriting guidelines.
• Engage in ongoing process improvement efforts, contributing to the development of more efficient underwriting workflows and best practices tailored to business purpose loans.

Requirements

• Education: Bachelor's degree in finance, business, or related field.
• Strong interest in real estate finance, credit analysis, or lending operations.
• Excellent attention to detail, organization, and follow-through.
• Analytical mindset with a desire to learn how to assess financial data and property performance.
• Clear and professional communication skills - both written and verbal.
• Willingness to learn and grow under the mentorship of experienced underwriters.
