As a Science Teacher at The Spire School, youll inspire curiosity and confidence in students who are bright, capable, and benefit from a smaller, therapeutic learning environment. Youll design hands-on, inquiry-based lessons that make science accessible and engaging, while supporting students academic and emotional growth. Working alongside counselors, learning specialists, and wellness staff, youll help students develop both scientific understanding and essential life skills for success beyond the classroom.
What Youll Need
Valid or eligible Connecticut certification in Science 712 or Special Education 712 (dual certification preferred)
One to three years of teaching experience with middle or high school students
Experience supporting learners with emotional or learning challenges
Strong communication and collaboration skills to partner effectively with students, families, and colleagues
Commitment to fostering an inclusive, supportive classroom community
What Youll Do
Develop and deliver science lessons that align with state and national standards while accommodating individual learning styles
Foster a safe, engaging, and inclusive classroom environment that promotes both academic and emotional growth
Use differentiated instruction and adaptive teaching methods to meet diverse student needs
Assess and track student progress through formal and informal evaluations to guide instruction
Communicate regularly with families and collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to support each students success
